# Man Dies Behind the Wheel of Stolen Ferrari F430 After High-Speed Joyride Goes Wrong

A man is accused of absconding from a Colorado car dealership with a used 2007 Ferrari F430 supercar, which a police report says he fatally crashed while joyriding the car.

According to the Arvada Police Department (APD), an unidentified local car dealership reported that a grey 2007 Ferrari had been stolen from its inventory. Around this time, the APD also received calls reporting a speeding vehicle in the city's northwest, around Ward Road and 64th Avenue. Responding officers spotted a grey sports car traveling northbound at a high rate of speed on Ward Road around the 6700 block. The report did not specify whether officers [gave chase](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/24861/11-year-old-boy-leads-cops-on-second-high-speed-chase-after-mom-takes-away-playstation>), though there would be no need to do so.

Shortly thereafter, the driver of the vehicle, identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 39-year-old Steven Andrews, lost control of the Ferrari at the 6900 block of Ward Road. He exited the road at high speed, colliding with a fence and multiple trees. APD officers that reached the site of the crash determined Andrews to be deceased at the scene, also finding that he had a female passenger. She was not identified by the APD's report and was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A social media account believed to belong to Andrews has been found, and its most recent post may be related to why he fatally crashed a car. The account's most recent post, on February 23, was a link to a [GoFundMe](<https://www.gofundme.com/6nodrc0?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb_dn_cpgnsharebartop_r&fbclid=IwAR2_-W6kLkJEu7XVkKP-6tVivGLZVCCZ5_vAX3A4B28QaF6h9kLtNhsJKac>) whose stated goal is to "[destroy cancer](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/25856/chevrolet-corvette-c7-r-owned-by-jeff-gordon-will-be-auctioned-to-fight-pediatric-cancer>) and its causes \[sic\]," with the goal of raising $1 billion to do so.

The [Ferrari F430](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/26442/ferrari-f430-owner-who-sued-arkansas-dealership-wont-get-millions-after-all>) was produced by Ferrari between 2004 and 2009 and featured a 4.3-liter V8 producing north of 490 horsepower.
