# Alec Baldwin to Play Enzo Ferrari in Ferruccio Lamborghini Biopic

It looks like Alec Baldwin will soon have another arrogant egotist to add to his filmography. The star of such notable films as *Glengarry Glen Ross* and *Boss Baby* will play Enzo Ferrari, alongside Antonio Banderas as Ferruccio Lamborghini, in a biopic tentatively titled *Lamborghini — The Legend*, according to *[The Hollywood Reporter](<https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/alec-baldwin-antonio-banderas-star-lamborghini-biopic-1002655>).*

The film—not to be confused with the Michael Mann-helmed Ferrari biopic [that Christian Bale will certainly not be starring in](<https://deadline.com/2016/01/christian-bale-exits-michael-mann-enzo-ferrari-over-health-concerns-1201684066/>)—will be written by Bobby Moresco of *Crash* and *Million Dollar Baby* fame, and will be directed by Michael Radford. It'll be based on the book *Ferruccio Lamborghini: La storia ufficiale (The official story),* which was penned by Ferruccio's son Tonino. The younger Lamborghini described the story thusly:

> My book *Ferruccio Lamborghini: La storia ufficiale (The official story)* is the only text perfectly respectful of the real life of my father, despite numerous legends and anecdotes written or told by other people looking for a moment of celebrity. I really believe this film can translate into images and words the great humanity of Ferruccio and transmit to the viewers worldwide my father's personality: a man full of energy, charisma and passion.

Ferruccio Lamborghini's biopic is set to depict the tractor-turned-supercar-maker's entire life, from his beginnings working with farming equipment to his experience with military vehicles during WWII—to, of course, the iconic clash with Enzo that led to the bull-on-wheels empire we know today. So less *Rush*, more *[Steve Jobs](<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs_(film)>).*

As legend has it, Ferruccio was deeply unsatisfied with the customer service, weak clutch, and lack of on-road comfort of his Ferrari 250GT. When he aired his grievances to old man Enzo, Ferruccio was effectively told to go pound sand and play with his simple tractors. Appropriately enraged, Lamborghini cobbled together some tractor components and decided to beat Ferrari at his own game. Interestingly, around the same time, Enzo had a similar*—*albeit much higher profile*—*fallout with none other than the Ford Motor Company, which gave rise to the legendary [Ford GT40 and its subsequent successors](<https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/10140/i-road-tested-every-generation-of-ford-gt-road-car-2>).

Uh-oh—is it too late to say 'spoilers' for the upcoming Baldwin-Banderas flick? My apologies.
