I used to be a little bit of a watch enthusiast. I won't use the term horologist because I was never that serious. There's always been a connection between cars and watches. So, I have a Tag Heuer and a couple of other wrist machines with tenuous ties to the automotive world. About five years ago, I bought a smartwatch and never looked back. If you, or a nyone you're shopping for is like me and loves Apple Watches and Garmins, they make great gifts, especially when you can save hundreds of dollars off the normal price, which these smartwatch deals are here for.

Hank and I are both [big fans of Garmin smartwatches](<https://www.thedrive.com/guides-and-gear/garmin-instinct-tested-review>) and there are some huge deals to be had. The [Garmin fēnix® 7 Pro – Sapphire Solar Edition](<https://bestbuy.7tiv.net/c/2095194/614286/10014?subId1=TD-RV&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestbuy.com%2Fsite%2Fgarmin-fenix-7x-pro-sapphire-solar-gps-smartwatch-51-mm-fiber-reinforced-polymer-titanium%2F6545128.p%3FskuId%3D6545128%26nrtv_cid%3Dk338p1n6coe5d%26irclickid%3DVIDyZnTKHxyKUVDw12yjHSDbUkCXG1VQeR6yRA0%26irgwc%3D1%26ref%3D198%26loc%3DHowl%2520Technologies%252C%2520Inc.%26acampID%3D0%26mpid%3D376373%26affgroup%3D%2522Content%2522>) for $649.99 would probably be my pick. It's currently $250 off the list price. Most of Garmin's larger watches are $250 off also. There are more reasonably priced options like the [Garmin vívoactive 5 GPS Smartwatch 42mm](<https://bestbuy.7tiv.net/c/2095194/614286/10014?subId1=TD-RV&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestbuy.com%2Fsite%2Fgarmin-vivoactive-5-gps-smartwatch-42-mm-fiber-reinforced-polymer-slate-aluminum-and-black%2F6554489.p%3FskuId%3D6554489%26nrtv_cid%3Dm9cqb2i2fsha0%26irclickid%3DVIDyZnTKHxyKUVDw12yjHSDbUkCXG13weR6yRA0%26irgwc%3D1%26ref%3D198%26loc%3DHowl%2520Technologies%252C%2520Inc.%26acampID%3D0%26mpid%3D376373%26affgroup%3D%2522Content%2522>) for $199.99 and the [Garmin Forerunner 255 GPS Smartwatch 46mm](<https://bestbuy.7tiv.net/c/2095194/614286/10014?subId1=TD-RV&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestbuy.com%2Fsite%2Fgarmin-forerunner-255-gps-smartwatch-46-mm-fiber-reinforced-polymer-slate-gray%2F6513342.p%3FskuId%3D6513342%26nrtv_cid%3D5i0sa20txh2re%26irclickid%3DVIDyZnTKHxyKUVDw12yjHSDbUkCXG1xYeR6yRA0%26irgwc%3D1%26ref%3D198%26loc%3DHowl%2520Technologies%252C%2520Inc.%26acampID%3D0%26mpid%3D376373%26affgroup%3D%2522Content%2522>) for $249.99. Both of these are great options if you're looking for a smartwatch that is GPS equipped, and will help you jumpstart those New Year's fitness goals.

It was an Apple Watch that turned me from a dumbwatch wearer to a smartwatch fan. The [Apple Watch SE 2nd Generation (GPS) 40mm Silver Aluminum Case](<https://bestbuy.7tiv.net/c/2095194/614286/10014?subId1=TD-RV&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bestbuy.com%2Fsite%2Fapple-watch-se-2nd-generation-gps-40mm-aluminum-case-with-starlight-sport-band-s-m-starlight-2024%2F6572661.p%3FskuId%3D6572661>) for $199.00. That's $50 off. It's a great choice if you want a smartwatch that operates just like an iPhone on your wrist. It will do 90% of the fitness functions of the Garmin, and owning both, I can tell you the Apple is probably easier to use.
