I mean, it's way cheaper than golf, it's a useful skill that will help you build cars, it'll impress your friends, and it isn't freakin' golf. I've found big deals on welders and welding equipment from several different online sources. Some you can pick up in person the same day. Others will be dropped off at your front door by a friendly(maybe) delivery person.

If you don't know the name, Eastwood and you work on cars, you should probably look them up. The company's welders are normally a good deal to begin with. But right now several machines are discounted anywhere from $50 to $455 off. However, they are recommended by several people I know as a good home machine. There's also a few deals on accessories below; there's even a plasma cutter. Remember when budgeting, you'll absolutely need a welding mask and gloves. A jacket is nice and so is a table. Spark it up and stick some stuff together.
