I use my [pocket knife](<https://www.thedrive.com/category/accessories>) far more often than I ever used the blade in my EDC multi-tool. Yes, it's easy to call a pocket knife a grown-up fidget toy, but even if that's the case, I don't see a problem. I no longer consider myself a "watch guy," so now my focus on everyday carry mechanical items has shifted to knives.

I've found knives at all different price points starting at just $20 and going all the way up to a few hundred. But, that [Microtech Anax S/E Frame Lock Knife](<https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=999&u=2059122&m=39329&afftrack=TD-RV&urllink=www.bladehq.com%2Fitem--Microtech-Anax-SE-Frame-Lock-Knife--181083>) for $319.99 has an MSRP of over 600 bucks. That's a smokin' deal if you're after a knife at that end of the spectrum with a titanium frame with real carbon fiber inlays. Does anyone need that? No. But, like I said above, this is like watches. Nobody needs a multi-thousand dollar watch to wear everyday, but spend your disposable income how you see fit.

I picked out two knives in the $20 range. The [Kershaw Zing Assisted Opening Liner Lock Knife](<https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=999&u=2059122&m=39329&afftrack=TD-RV&urllink=www.bladehq.com%2Fitem--Kershaw-Zing-Assisted-Opening-Liner-Black-G10--196936>) has a plane edge on its 3-inch blade with an assisted open. This is a great choice for an EDC pocket knife that'll work great in most situations. The [Gerber FAST Draw Tanto Knife Assisted Open](<https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=999&u=2059122&m=39329&afftrack=TD-RV&urllink=www.bladehq.com%2Fitem--Gerber-FAST-Draw-Tanto-Knife--15598>) is a similar knife but has a serrated edge. There's a Dessert Warrior, not a typo, down there with the Homer Donut pattern.
