**Automotive**

The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a [civil lawsuit](<https://www.informationweek.com/government/mobile-and-wireless/doj-sues-vw-over-emissions-cheating-scandal/d/d-id/1323756>) against Volkswagen for allegedly using illegal devices to cheat emissions tests.

*The Drive* editor Mike Guy and editor-at-large Alex Roy are at CES 2016, and there’s not a velvet rope or office door they aren't being ushered through.
