Hi, I’m Max Goldberg and this is Drive Wire for Monday November 21st, 2016.

Today on Drive Wire we dive into an emotion weekend for the race world. Both Tony Stewart and Mark Webber retired after long and successful careers.

Wrapping up his career in the World Endurance Championship, Webber proudly finished 3rd in Bahrain this past weekend. After winning nine F1 races and making the podium 42 times, Webber was a force to be reckoned with.

During his brief stent in the World Endurance Championship, Webber won the 2015 title for Porsche.

But Webber wasn’t the only person who hung up his helmet this weekend. The legendary Tony Stewart retired after a successful 21 year career in NASCAR. With an astounding 49 victories under his belt, Stewart finally finished his last race. Before departing from the sport, countless fans, crews, and drivers honored the driving at Homestead-Miami Speedway this past weekend.

The Drive wishes both drivers the best of luck with their retirement.

That’s it for Drive Wire on November 21st, 2016. I’m Max Goldberg; thanks for watching, and please check out The Drive for more on the big stories from the transportation world.
