Drive Wire for October 13th, 2016: Ken Block Reveals 1,400-HP Twin-Turbo “Hoonicorn” Ford Mustang
Because sometimes 845 horsepower isn’t enough.

Today on Drive Wire: Rally driver and social media sensation Ken Block has upgraded his customized classic Ford Mustang to 1,400-horsepower.
The Hoonicorn, as Block calls his all-wheel-drive 1965 Ford Mustang, was originally built with an 845-horsepower 6.7-liter V8.
But that wasn’t enough for the WRC star, so he had the ‘Stang upgraded with a pair of massive turbochargers pushing 21 pounds of boost into the engine. The car has also been upgraded to run on methanol fuel.
The custom classic is no stranger to fans of Block’s popular Gymkhana video series; the car played a starring role in the 2014 installment, Gymkhana Seven, which featured the vehicle performing stunts around Los Angeles.
It also appeared on the most recent season of the BBC’s Top Gear, where Block used it to drive co-host Matt LeBlanc around London.
You can expect to see the upgraded Hoonicorn in a new video project of Block’s sometime in the not-too-distant future, according to the driver.
