Hey guys, it’s Christina Thompson and this is Drive Wire for Wednesday, March 30th.

We open today with more news out of Land Rover – we recently told you that the Discovery was getting a Sport Model, and now it seems that the LR4 replacement is going to be put in the hands of the engineers at Land Rover’s special vehicle operations division. The resulting model will be called the s-v-x and will be a go-anywhere, multi-terrain capable vehicle in the best Land Rover tradition, focusing on technological solutions to off-roading problems. The best part about this? It could be a warm-up to the reintroduction of the Land Rover Defender. At any rate, we’ll have to wait and see – although Land Rover looks serious about this, it’s early days and we likely won’t see the SVX for a year, maybe two.

Turning to New South Wales, Australia, it seems the local constabulary has added a Lexus RCF sports coupe to their fleet. The 467 horsepower Grand Tourer will be used primarily as a publicity vehicle, as cars like this usually are. To that end, the Lexus has been given a tidy graphics and electronics package. Of course, we hope they at least use this on a few highway runs for enforcement purposes a couple times, because that’s how you build real publicity.

In overpowered luxury car news, we have an ill-mannered Cadillac CTS-V from Hennessey performance. The infamous Texans have taken America’s best sports sedan to 750 horses using time-tested tuning techniques, which gives you a 3.2 second run to 60 on the way to 210 miles an hour. If that isn’t enough, packages are available for both 800 and 1,000 horsepower, so you can go from executive boardroom to racetrack as quick as you like. Sign up now to avoid the long waits on this one.

For today’s gear, we have the hands-free wireless earbuds of your dreams. Ripplebuds take noise cancellation a step further by using an in-ear microphone, allowing better and cleaner sound isolation, so you can be heard more clearly. Just make sure everyone knows you have earbuds in. Otherwise you look like a crazy person talking to yourself. Check the Ripplebuds out on Kickstarter.

In today’s ridiculous video, we bring you some good old-fashioned tire smoking and death defying from the no-frills-named Stunt Freaks Team. From burning the tires of an E30 M3 to thrashing every type of sport bike, all these rambunctious daredevils care about is shredding as much tire in four minutes as possible.

That’s it for today’s edition of Drive Wire. For more, be sure to come back to thedrive.com, and follow us @thedrive on all your favorite social media platforms.
