About

Born and raised in Hawaii, Beverly has been a prolific and published creative writer since her teens. As a contributor to The Drive, Beverly covers the weekend shift, blogging about all things automotive, mobility, transportation, and topics in-between.

Currently a digital nomad, Beverly’s only constant is her car, a second-generation Mazdaspeed3. Even though she’s never in one place for too long, her hot hatch always feels like home.

Experience

During her career, Beverly has worn many hats, from after-school teacher to video producer. In the automotive space, Beverly started as a regional logistics manager for Bentley, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Subaru, and Toyota. From there, she went corporate.

At Kia, Beverly was a lead on the brand's national media fleet, product communications, motorsports, and community affairs, as well as supported media relations for the automaker's U.S. manufacturing plant, Kia Georgia. Beverly's next move was to Mazda, where she managed external communications for Design, Product Planning, and R&D teams in addition to being a media events specialist.

Eventually, Beverly started a new chapter as a freelancer in brand communications and digital content. She's helped boutique firms build partnerships and develop brand messaging. On the content side, she's written and produced multiple video projects for Hagerty, and her byline has appeared in Forbes, Capital One, CarGurus, Motor 1, New York Daily News, and more.
