Nine Cool Cars from President Trump's Garage
They might get a little dusty over the next four years.
It’s official: Donald Trump is now President Trump. And although we don’t know how the next four years will play out, we do know that his civilian fleet of vehicles will almost certainly be collecting dust while he occupies the White House.
It's no secret President Trump has a healthy bank account and quite expensive tastes, so if you guessed he has a collection of cars that matches his fancy aircraft and giant homes...you'd be right. So as today is Inauguration Day, The Drive has pulled together a list of nine notable pieces Trump is reported to have—either now or once upon a time—in his car collection.
1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT
As we mentioned when The Donald's Diablo was on sale for $299,000, this might very well be the first and last presidential Lamborghini. Powered by a 5.7-liter V12 making 510 horsepower, Donald’s Diablo SV was definitely the wild ride of his fleet.
2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
With taste like The Donald has, it isn’t surprising to hear he has a few high-priced Mercedes-Benzes in his fleet. President Trump is all about exclusivity, so the fact that only 370 SLRs were brought to the US in 2003 makes total sense. With the help of a 5.4-liter supercharged V8, Trump can launch to 60 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds.
2015 Rolls Royce Phantom
There is little explanation needed as to why President Trump reportedly owns a Phantom: It's great—really great. A favorite of the Hollywood elite, the Rolls Royce Phantom costs around $300,000 (before Trumpification adds on any gold trim) and utilizes a twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V12 making 563 horsepower. Plus, Trump can drive it to the monthly Rolls-Royce Cars and Coffee at the Dunkin Donuts on Pennsylvania Avenue.
2011 Chevrolet Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car
Everyone needs a novelty car in their fleet, whether it' whacky old Ford Taurus or an Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. In President Trump’s case, he reportedly has ownership of a 2011 Camaro SS designed for pacing the Brickyard. Imitating the pace cars of the 1960s, Trump’s Camaro SS is a white convertible with red striping and all the appropriate decals. Does he drive it often? Probably not.
2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard
There is a short list of cars one needs to own if they intend to use a driver or feel their fame requires additional security. The Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard is definitely on that short list. Designed to protect its occupants against high-powered rifles and still look great rolling up to the country club. The S600 Guard still uses the 6.0-liter V12 with 523 horsepower, but you can expect the 0-60 mph run to slow down a little due to the extra weight.
1956 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud
A classic among the opulent and newly wed, the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud has been an icon of luxury for decades. With gorgeous flowing lines, a massive grill, and a sloping back, the Silver Cloud floats down the street with the elegance and grace associated with the elite. Although it was powered by a 6.2-liter V8, it was no rocket...but then again, why would anyone want to hurry places when it means spending less time in that massive back seat?
1993 Cadillac Allante
All right, hold the judgement—this Cadillac has some odd charm to it. Made by GM in hopes of competing with the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, the Allante was a little hint of Italian charm from an otherwise American brand. Powered by the famous Northstar System (295-hp 4.6-liter V8), the Allante was a nice blend between sporty and luxurious. Still, the Allante lasted less than a decade and never got the traction GM hoped for.
2015 Cadillac Escalade
This one may go without seem obvious, but President Trump reportedly owns at least one Cadillac Escalade. This luxury full-sized SUV is the obvious vehicle of choice for many celebrities thanks to it plush accommodations and 420-hp 6.2-liter V8.
According to reports, President Trump also owns a Tesla Roadster. Made from 2008 to 2012, the Roadster was the first vehicle from Tesla and a hint at what was to come. The sporty roadster shot to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and caught the attention of the newly emerging EV crowd. At $109,000, the Roadster wasn’t cheap....then again, it was also rare enough that The Donald likely didn't see many others zooming around in his pre-POTUS years.
