# Drive Wire: You Probably Can’t Buy This New Ford F-150

Kicking off our day with a very desirable vehicle that you absolutely cannot own – a stripped-down, bare-bones Ford F-150 pickup. The special service package on the F-150 adds goodies like vinyl flooring and rear seat for hose-out capability, a 240 amp alternator, and a removable center console for that empty-truck, full-heart feeling. The SSV will be offered in two or four-wheel-drive coupled with either a 5-liter V8 or a 2.5 Eco-Boost V6 engine. Regardless of the engine you choose, this police-oriented truck will be light on its feet. Ford has aimed this truck right at the law enforcement fraternity, which means we’ll have to wait a few years and get these trucks gently used. Look for the F-150 SSV on the road any day now.
