Ram unveiled a new special-edition truck and it’s a stunning bright blue. The 2018 Ram 1500 Hydro Blue is the final special-edition Sport model this year. The car features a black-decaled Sport performance hood, body-colored Sport grille with black billet inserts and a black RAM letter badge. There’s also a flat black body-side and tailgate badging to go along with black bezel projector headlamps and LED tail lights.
Forged, polished 22-inch aluminum wheels come standard on the 4×2 model while the polished 20-inch version of the wheel comes on the 4×4 model. The interior is dressed up too with blue highlight stitching on the instrument panel, steering wheel and door trim. Blue Sport embroidery is everywhere on the bucket seats and blue Ram’s head logos are emblazoned on each headrest.
This is the third sport edition Ram 1500 launched. The Sublime Green and Copper Sport was released earlier this year while the Ignition Orange model hit the streets late 2016. Production will be limited to 2,000 trucks with a base price of $46,060 with a $1,395 destination fee. The Hydro Blue Sport is set to go on sale this month.
Jeep & Ram Brands are headed by a guy named Mike Manley. That’s probably the most appropriate name for someone running a truck brand. Mr. Manley had the following to say about the new edition, “The custom look and high-impact colors have been well received in the marketplace and this new Ram 1500 Hydro Blue Sport will surely stand out on dealers’ lots and in customers’ driveways. Enthusiasts demand that their trucks get noticed and our Ram 1500 Sport lineup delivers a durable, powerful alternative with great visual appeal.”
I can’t wait to see the face on the guy in the grabber blue V6 Mustang when this 5.7-liter Hemi V8 rolls up next to them at the stop light.
