For those looking to transport large families in one car without the soccer mom stigma of a minivan, a [full-size SUV](<https://www.thedrive.com/article/13702/large-suv-sales-expected-to-jump-25-percent-by-2022-due-to-millennials-study-claims>) is probably the way to go. The new [Nissan Armada](<https://www.thedrive.com/article/2165/drive-wire-the-2017-nissan-armada-is-much-improved>) is one of a few decent acceptable choices, as the second-gen big boy received an upgraded platform, making driving the massive "truck" much easier. Nissan is focusing on improving the interior of the [2018 Armada](<https://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/releases/nissan-announces-u-s-pricing-for-2018-armada>), which will hit dealerships nationwide on September 1. The new 8-passenger SUV may feel spacious on the inside, but it's jam-packed with cutting-edge technology and an arsenal of driver assists to make its arguably steep price tag more manageable.

All 3 Armada trims will come standard with an 8-inch touchscreen NissanConnect infotainment system featuring a Hands-free Texting Assistant, Enhanced Voice Recognition, HD radio, and lots of USB ports.

A new feature of the top-trim Armada Platinum is the Intelligent Rear View Mirror, which uses the rear view mirror housing as a screen in conjunction with a high-quality, rear-mounted camera to give the driver a crystal-clear picture of the road behind them. Think of it as a high-definition reversing camera that's on all the time with a better field of view. Owners can easily toggle between the "I-RVM" and regular mirror via a switch on the housing.

The 2018 Armada retains its 5.6-liter, 390-horsepower V8 and 7-speed automatic transmission, but can be had with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive; these specs allow for a towing capacity of 8,500 pounds.

The Armada starts at $45,600, but a fully-loaded Armada Platinum with 4-wheel drive will cost $61,590. In addition, buyers can choose from a Premium Package, Driver's Package, Captain's Chair Package, and optional Pearl White paint.
