# Lamborghini Huracans Conquering Transylvania’s Prettiest Road Is Photographic Perfection

Where is the best driving [road](<https://www.thedrive.com/article/1646/7-american-roads-to-drive-before-you-die>) on the planet? It's reasonable for Americans to assume that it's somewhere in California, the [Angeles Crest Highway](<https://www.thedrive.com/article/11382/angeles-crest-highway-closed-due-to-sinkhole>) perhaps; or maybe it's on the East Coast, like the [Tail of the Dragon](<https://www.thedrive.com/porsche/10217/porsche-pilgrimage-days-8-9-and-10-atlanta-to-louisville>). Unfortunately for those of us without the money for an expensive plane ticket, most agree that the best driving roads are across the pond. Spain has some breath-taking roads, with the [French Riviera](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/3435/the-vintage-mercedes-road-trip-you-didnt-know-you-wanted>) trailing closely behind. However, Lamborghini thinks everyone is wrong and that the most beautiful and exciting road in Europe is in...[Romania](<https://www.thedrive.com/article/12553/lamborghini-recruits-young-drivers-for-squadra-corse-programs>). To find out, Lambo has sent six of the best [Huracans](<https://www.thedrive.com/news/10501/twin-turbo-lamborghini-huracan-sets-half-mile-world-record-of-250-mph>) in its lineup to Transylvania for a bucket list dream cruise.

Lamborghini stated in a [press release](<https://media.lamborghini.com/english/latest-news/all/sei-lamborghini-in-transilvania--sfidano-la-transf-g-r--an--una-delle-strade-pi--belle-del-mondo/s/b8001460-a84c-4176-916c-81adfdb07c07>) Thursday that it shipped five Huracan Coupes and Spyders as well as a [Huracan Performante](<https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/11307/2018-lamborghini-huracan-performante-is-a-supercar-supreme>) to Romania to drive the *Transfăgărășan*, Transylvania's loveliest road. The *Transfăgărășan* is a 56-mile winding stretch of pavement that snakes through the Transylvanian Alps region, and was once named the best driving road in the world by [*Top Gear*](<https://www.losapos.com/transfagarasan>). Overlooking part of the road is the castle of Vlad III, also known as Vlad the Impaler—who, of course, is the inspiration for Dracula. The *Transfăgărășan* is only open to the public during the summer, and they say you can see the entire road from the highest nearby peak on a clear day.

The half dozen Huracans started in the large town of Sibiu, Romania and drove nearly 100 miles to find the winding road. Once there, the Lamborghinis had nearly 60 miles of crazy hairpins and breath-taking views to explore, ending at the Vidraru Dam with Count Dracula's castle looming over them. That said...Vlad's taste for red implies that he was probably more of a Ferrari guy anyway.
