Twelve race cars were involved a nasty pileup during a Supercars Championship race in Australia Saturday that caused more than $3.75 million in damage and resulted in one driver being hospitalized, The Daily Telegraph reports.

The race was being held in the rain at Symmons Plains on the island of Tasmania. According to The Daily Telegraph, the crash created more than 9Gs of force. A red flag was dropped after the pileup.

Driver Will Davison had to be taken to a hospital for a possible back injury but he was in stable condition, according to the report.

Holden driver Garth Tander was stuck in his car for more than 15 minutes as officials and emergency crews scrambled to clean up the track, according to the report.

“I have no idea what happened,’’ Tander said, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The Supercars Championship is the race series formerly known as V8 Supercars. Though the name changed (in 2016), it appears that the racing is just as exciting.
