This Twin-Turbo Lamborghini Huracán Just Set the Half-Mile Speed Record

Underground Racing’s tuned and spooled 2015 Huracán hit 256.99 MPH.

Underground Racing is a tuner shop located in Charlotte, NC, that sets up exotic cars with twin turbos. It work on Ferraris, Audi R8s, and Dodge Vipers, but it's best known most for are their twin turbo set ups on Lamborghinis.

This shop has held half-mile records in the past, but recently they broke their own 1/2 mile street legal car record and hit 256.99 mph in the half-mile to become the World's Fastest Half-Mile Street Car at a SHIFT S3CTOR event. 

The car, a 2015 Lamborghini Huracán, was driven by Gidi Chamdi and according to Underground Racing is owned by Mohammad of Drag965

Underground Racing offers many Twin Turbo set ups for the Huracán starting with a base Twin Turbo set up giving the car 800 whp on 93 octane pump gas costing $49,000 up to a Stage 3 Twin Turbo set up which requires engine modification to give the car 1000 whp on 93 octane pump gas and 1250 whp on race gas which will run you $99,000. The set ups in these ranges also include a 2 year - 24,000 mile warranty. Underground Racing will also sell you a X Version Twin Turbo set up which requires heavy engine modification which will give the Huracán 1200 whp on 93 octane pump gas and 2200+ whp on race fuel, you have to call for pricing. The record breaking Huracán was had to have been equipped with some variant of this X Version package. 

As they continue to out do themselves on the world record front you can be assured they will make some tweaks to the car and be back to break their own record.
