If you're looking for a fine example of unique hot-rodding, then this Willys Wagon could be your fix. Restored to like-new condition, this oddball people carrier is equally beautiful and powerful, catching everyone's eye at the show or on the street. The builder has inserted loads of modern touches to the classic chassis, making it an exercise in both creativity and expertise—and it shows. The car is listed here on eBay with a Buy it Now price of $42,500, making it a well-valued piece for its next potential owner.

Initially, the car's build quality is what captures your attention. Fit and finish seems top notch, with clever touches placed throughout. What look to be real wood inlays find their home on the wagon's exterior, while the cabin is draped with period-correct brown leather. A simplistic dash design keeps things clean, while the three pedal set up matches nicely with the black ball shifter that controls the Willys' T-56 six speed transmission.

The star of this classic, however, is the powerplant. A 6.1-liter Hemi crate engine has been dropped in place of the original lump to produce a strong 450 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque. All of that twist is transferred to the Ford 8.8-inch rear end with a limited-slip diff to boot. It seems to have the power to back up its appearance, showing what a well-rounded piece it really is.

Ford Racing disc brakes control all four corners of the car while the suspension is dropped notably lower than stock. Though we don't expect it to win any road course races, it should be able to hold its own on the streets.

The previous owner claims two Hot Rod Magazine features in his past, speaking for the level of quality in this build.

Bidding ends on May 7th, so make sure to poke your head in and see what this treasure fetches at auction once it ends. Your humble author wouldn't think twice about picking up this the wacko Wagon.
