Not all vehicles made in the U.S. or Canada are built by union-represented workers.

So says the United Auto Workers, which has released a 2017 shopping guide in the hopes consumers will support its members by purchasing union-made cars, SUVs, and trucks.

Buying union "means you are support [sic] good-paying jobs that strengthen and grow our economy," the UAW, which represents more than 400,000 active members, said in its guide, which also lists products made by other unions.

The UAW list includes more than 20 car brands, half a dozen trucks, 25 SUVs/CUVs, three vans and a specialty vehicle for disabled drivers.

Here's a rundown:

UAW Cars: the Buick LaCrosse and Verano; the Cadillac ATS, CTS and CT6 (excluding plug-in hybrid); the Chevrolet Bolt, Camaro, Cruze, Impala, Malibu, Sonic and Volt; Chrysler 200; Dodge Viper; the Ford Focus, Mustang, Taurus and Continental.

UAW Trucks: Chevrolet Colorado and Silverado; the Ford F series; GMC Canyon and Sierra and the RAM 1500.

UAW SUVs/CUVs: Buick Enclave; Cadillac Escalade (ESV and hybrid), XT5; Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe (includes police and special service) and Traverse; the Dodge Durango; the Ford Escape, Expedition and Explorer; the GMC Acadia, Yukon (and hybrid and XL); the Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Grand Cherokee, Patriot and Wrangler; the Lincoln MKC and Navigator.

UAW Vans: Chevrolet Express; Ford Transit; GMC Savana.

UAW Speciality Vehicle: American General MV-1 (for disabled drivers).

Separately, the guide also includes brands produced by Canada's Unifor union, or what was once called the Canadian Auto Workers. Because of the integration of the U.S. and Canadian vehicle production, the vehicles on the UAW's list include "significant" UAW-made content, the union said.

A few of the vehicles are made in the U.S. and Mexico, the UAW said.
