Remember the guy who made this epic used car commercial for his significant other's 1996 Honda Accord EX Coupe? CarMax just offered them $20 grand for it. That is about $19,000 more than its current Kelley Blue Book value. Keep in mind that this is a 21-year-old car with 141,095 miles on the odometer. To put that into perspective, the base model 2018 Honda Civic starts at $18,840.

The 2-door coupe was originally listed on eBay last week with a starting bid of just $499. In less than a week, the bid jumped up to $150,000, but eBay then canceled the listing citing fraudulent bidding. The car was relisted shortly after only to be taken down again by eBay for the same reason. The cinematic commercial, which now has more than 5 million views on YouTube, might have something to do with that.

We have all read stories of prestigious classics appreciating in value over time and selling for millions of dollars decades later. The fifth generation Accord, however, is far from rare considering 382,298 were sold in 1996 alone.

The genuine offer got Max, the owner's fiancé, to respond but the couple has yet to decide what to do. $20,000 sounds like a pretty good deal. It will certainly help pay for the wedding.
