A few days ago we broke a story of an off-road-ready Bentley Continental GT which was featured on the National Geographic UK television series Supercar Megabuild being up for auction on eBay. Per the eBay auction listing, the Bentley Continental GT sold for GBP 40,800.00, roughly $53,790.72.

The VIN was not provided in the eBay listing so determining the year of the car was not possible, but lets take a look at some of the current eBay listings for non-Megabuild TV show Bentley Continental GT's.

At the time I checked there were 32 sold listings matching a Bentley Continental GT including one 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S65 AMG, someone must believe they are very good at eBay SEO. The lowest priced Continental GT was a wrecked car going for $18,495.99. The off roader Continental GT has at least 119,000 miles per the listing claiming its last service was done at that mileage. There are no 100,000 mile or over Continental GT's being sold on eBay lately, but the cars with mileage in the 70,000-80,000 range appear to be selling for around $30,000.

Knock a few thousand off for the extra 25,000 miles and the 25,000 in upgrades and modifications the car actually broke even. It was a TV production car, so I am sure it was all written off as such anyway.

For $50,000 there are plenty of alternative off road options. If you want to stick to the stock route you could purchase a Toyota TRD 4Runner or Tundra with a few thousand to spare or a Ford Raptor with no funds to spare. Like with the Baby Driver stunt car, an alternative could be a full prepped rally car in that price range. There are plenty of great overlander builds that can be found for half the cost the Continental GT went for.

What would you rather spend $50,000 in terms of an off road capable ride? We would love to hear in the comments below.
