Sometimes a bad idea experiences exponential growth and turns into a series of tremendously bad ideas which can lead to an arrest. That’s what happened to a gentleman from Marysville, Washington, who crashed a rented Lamborghini that he apparently didn’t even rent.

Q13 Fox reports a 23-year-old man whose name hasn’t been revealed was first noticed by Edmonds, Washington, police at the Taste of Edmonds event. His first bad idea was driving a Lamborghini Huracan allegedly while drunk that was rented by his brother for a family event. Police attempted to pull over this fellow when they saw a 20-year-old woman in the passenger seat of the Huracan in question leaning out the window holding a beer.

These bad ideas evolved into another when the driver decided that rather than pull over and comply with the police, he should speed away and run multiple stop signs through downtown Edmonds. The chase ended when the police decided to stop pursuit for safety reasons, but the Lambo quickly stopped altogether when it crashed into the back of another car at 226th Steet SW and State Route 104. Nobody was hurt.

Both occupants of the Huracan were taken into custody. The male was charged with a DUI and attempting to elude the police while the female was taken in for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

The moral of the story is; if you’re going to rent a supercar, keep a very close eye on it. Especially if your brother and his underage girlfriend have had a few drinks.
