Dwayne Johnson Slams Fast 8 Co-stars
The Rock’s blood boils as he calls some fellow actors “candy asses.”
We’re wondering which of his Fast 8 male co-stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson thinks are “chicken shit” unprofessionals? Johnson isn’t exactly the hulking, muscular type of dude you want angry at you, but it also seems quite hard to get the guy mad in the first place. His social media persona oozes utter bliss, overflowing with behind-the-scenes snaps, toothy grins, peppy workout pictures and an occasional hysterical swan Vine, and his hashtag and emoji game is stronger than both his bulging biceps. So when he uses his safe space to cry foul on his fellow Fast and Furious actors, you know he’s pissed.
The former wrestler, who plays Luke Hobbs, posted this rant to Instagram and Facebook on Monday:
“This is my final week of shooting Fast & Furious 8. There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. Universal Studios Entertainment has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling - you're right.
Bottom line is it'll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that's embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part. Final week on FAST 8 and I will finish strong.#IcemanCometh #F8 #ZeroToleranceForCandyAsses”
In case those words weren’t harsh enough to convey his rage, he included a short snippet of him, in character, slamming a bad guy into a wall. Yikes.
While the Fast 8 ladies, including Charlize Theron, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez get nothing but love, we’re pondering which of the lengthy list of male actors got under Johnson’s skin. It’s unlikely it’s newcomer Scott Eastwood, if Eastwood’s own words are to be believed. Eastwood said he likes to stick around after shots because he “wants to learn.” That leaves longtime franchise veterans Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Jason Statham, recent cast addition Kurt Russell or Lucas Black, who appeared in Tokyo Drift and Furious 7. Without any insightful clues, it could be any of those guys. Who’s your money on?
