It's as regular as clockwork these days: Whenever one of the Big Three reveals a new heavy-duty pickup, they always find a way to give it more towing capacity than its suddenly-outdated foes. With the 2017 F-Series Super Duty, however, Ford didn't just eke out a victory over Ram and General Motors; it smacked them down by more than half a ton. In F-450 Super Duty SuperCrew 4x4 dually form, Ford's new monster truck can tow 32,500 pounds.

32,500 pounds. That's 16 tons. And change.

That's assuming your F-450 is configured for gooseneck towing, of course. Left to handle a fifth-wheel trailer, the heaviest Super Duty can pull 27,500 pounds; if it's dealing with a conventional trailer, the mighty rig can haul 21,000 pounds. (All these stats assume, of course, that the F-450 in question comes equipped with the 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8, which turns out 440-hp and 925 lb.-ft. of torque.)

But nobody buys an F-450 to wimp around. They buy 'em to haul the biggest trailers possible. They buy them because they want to have the capability to haul almost anything. They wake up in the middle of the night sweating because they had a nightmare that they found themselves unable to tow something. These folks don't play.

So for all those future 2017 F-Series Super Duty owners out there, The Drive has put together a quick list of five things you can tow with your new heavy-duty truck that you may not have realized you could handle. You may never find yourself in a position where you need to haul any of these things...but if it comes up, you'll be ready.

Each F1 car must weight at least 1,544 pounds, including the driver and his or her safety gear. Which means the new Super Duty could tow almost the entire 2016 starting grid.

Drained of fuel, fluids, and weaponry, the pride of the the U.S. Navy's air wings weighs in at 32,080 pounds. And it's not like you're gonna tow it full of JP-8 and AMRAAM missiles.

Assuming an average weight of roughly 250 pounds each and a 53-man roster, the F-450 could haul the Jets and the Giants all on the same trailer—and still have enough capacity left over for one of the players' Bentleys.

T.rex's weight is a matter of some debate, but most paleontologists peg the King of the Dinosaurs at around eight tons on the upper end. One momma rex, one papa rex, and one baby ought to be just fine.

Ford hasn't announced how much the new Super Duty weighs, but it has stated the 2017 model's aluminum body helps make it up to 350 pounds lighter than the outgoing model. The 2016 models weighed in between 6,942–8,611 lbs; subtract the 2017's weight loss, and depending on model, one F-450 could haul as many as four of its brethren around.
