If you’re one of the many people psyched to throw a leg over Yamaha’s all-new 2018 Star Venture trans-continental touring bike, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a little longer. Production of this big cruiser has been delayed and deliveries won’t be going out until late December at the soonest. Hopefully, Santa will be able to put one under your tree.

“The excitement and reception of the 2018 Yamaha Star Venture exceeded all of our initial expectations,” said Mike Doughty, General Manager of Yamaha’s Motorcycle Group in a statement according to Motorcycle.com. “This production delay is a very unfortunate situation, but we stand by our commitment to the quality of our motorcycles, and the highest level of customer service for both our customers and our dealers.”

This is especially a bummer for anyone living in a snowy climate hoping to eat up some miles on their new Star Venture before winter hits. Now their shiny new bike will have to sit in the garage and wait for Spring to stretch its legs.

A little something to help ease the pain for the anxious early adopters of the new Yamaha in the Priority Delivery Program is a $1,000 purchase credit for Yamaha parts and accessories. If there were a few upgrades you were thinking about getting for your new Star Venture like the available heated backrest, LED fog lights, or a navigation system, now you can go nuts customizing your new touring bike on Yamaha’s dime.

When the Yamaha Star Venture does come out, it promises to give the biggest names in big motorcycles a serious run for their money.
