Hey there. Devin Altieri here for Drive Wire on November 3rd, 2016.

Today on Drive Wire: Toyota has brought a Land Cruiser with a whopping 2,000 horsepower to SEMA.

The car, dubbed the “Land Speed Cruiser,” has a top speed of 220 miles per hour thanks to two “volleyball sized” Garrett turbochargers strapped to the 5.7-liter V8 engine.

Despite looking largely like your run of the mill Land Cruiser, Toyota says every single system on the car has been altered. In fact, the car marker pulled the body off the frame completely in order to fit all of the modifications. The only alteration plainly evident from the outside, however, is the fact that the car has been considerably lowered to assist the car hit that 200-plus benchmark.

Toyota has not yet said if the top speed of 220 has actually been hit or is merely theoretical, but any car with speeds infringing on supercar territory is bound to make a splash at SEMA.

That’s it for Drive Wire on November 3rd, 2016. I’m Devin Altieri; thanks for watching, and please check out The Drive for more on the big stories from the transportation world.
